The Chhattisgarh Startup Mission has received a major boost after the state Cabinet approved a ₹500 crore startup and skills programme for the next five years. The initiative aims to create new opportunities for employment, skill development, entrepreneurship and innovation among the state’s youth.
The Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhavan, also approved the Chhattisgarh Export Promotion Policy 2026-30 to strengthen the state’s export ecosystem and develop Chhattisgarh as a major export hub.
Chhattisgarh Startup Mission Gets ₹500 Crore Allocation
Under the Chief Minister Startup and NIPUN (New Age Industrial Preparedness for Upskilling New Generation Youth) Mission, the government has earmarked ₹500 crore for five years.
The Chhattisgarh Startup Mission will include entrepreneurship development centres in all 33 districts, 100 emerging technology laboratories and five industry excellence centres.
The NIPUN Job Engine will focus on skill development and formal employment based on industry requirements.
The mission aims to create better employment opportunities and encourage young people to move from job seekers to job creators. It also seeks to establish Chhattisgarh as a hub for startups, innovation and technology-based industries.
Chhattisgarh Export Promotion Policy 2026-30 Approved
The Cabinet also approved the Chhattisgarh Export Promotion Policy 2026-30 to create a stronger export ecosystem and improve logistics infrastructure across the state.
The policy aims to provide exporters with better market access and trade facilitation while promoting exports of value-added products from the agriculture and industrial sectors.
It will also help entrepreneurs and exporters gain direct access to international markets through e-commerce platforms, trade fairs and exhibitions.
The policy seeks to achieve qualitative and quantitative growth in Chhattisgarh’s exports and strengthen the state’s integration with national and global markets.
National Skill Training Institute to Come Up in Nava Raipur
In another decision, the Cabinet approved the free allotment of 10 acres of land in Tendua village, Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, to the Union government’s Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship for setting up a National Skill Training Institute (NSTI).
The institute will be developed at an estimated cost of around ₹200 crore and will include modern academic, administrative and hostel facilities.
It will have the capacity to train 1,000 trainees annually through long-term courses and 3,000 trainees through short-term programmes.
The training programmes will be aligned with industry requirements and are expected to expand opportunities for advanced skill development, internships and employment.
Chhattisgarh Cabinet Raises Government Job Age Limit
The Cabinet also approved an increase in the maximum age limit for eligible employees applying for other government services and higher posts.
The upper age limit has been increased from 38 years to 45 years for permanent and temporary government employees, employees of state corporations, boards and autonomous institutions, contractual workers and Home Guards.
The decision is aimed at providing employees in government and allied institutions with greater opportunities to move to higher posts and other government services.
The state government will issue integrated permanent guidelines for implementing the decision.
Chhattisgarh Startup Mission to Boost Jobs and Innovation
The Chhattisgarh Startup Mission, export promotion policy and new skill-training infrastructure together represent a broader push to strengthen employment, entrepreneurship, skills and economic activity in the state.
The ₹500 crore startup and skills mission, combined with the new export policy and proposed NSTI, is expected to create a stronger ecosystem for startups, technology, skill development, manufacturing, exports and youth employment.
