Centre Clears ‘Tex-RAMPS’ Scheme for Textile Innovation

The Government of India has approved the Tex-RAMPS Scheme, aimed at strengthening research, innovation, and competitiveness in the textile sector, with a budget of ₹305 crore from FY 2025-26 to FY 2030-31.

Announced by Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh, the scheme focuses on empowering India’s textiles through advanced research and innovation, robust data systems, an integrated textiles statistical system, capacity development, and support for start-ups.

Expected outcomes include enhanced global competitiveness, improved policymaking, increased employment opportunities, and strengthened collaboration among various stakeholders. The Tex-RAMPS Scheme represents a significant push towards a resilient and globally competitive textile ecosystem in India.
