BEML has secured a USD 6.65 million order from Mauritius to supply its BE220G hydraulic excavators for deployment across key African markets. The order will expand the company’s presence in Africa’s construction and mining equipment sector.
The machines will be deployed across Liberia, Sierra Leone, Ghana, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Côte d’Ivoire and neighbouring markets. The order will support BEML’s international business expansion and strengthen its position as an Indian OEM in global markets.
BEML Expands BE220G Excavator Deployment
The BE220G hydraulic excavator is powered by a 148 HP diesel engine. It features a 1.14 cubic metre bucket, a 5.85-metre boom and a 2.5-metre arm.
The machines will include air-conditioning, front windshield guards and corrosion-resistant paint. BEML will also provide yellow-painted booms and arms to align with local market preferences.
The company will execute the order in phases. The first phase will involve the pilot deployment of select machines in Sierra Leone. Further deployments will follow across the identified African markets.
BEML to Provide Technical and After-Sales Support
BEML will provide comprehensive warranty coverage for the deployed equipment. The company will also offer technical assistance to customers.
The support is expected to strengthen customer relationships and build BEML’s aftermarket presence across the region.
The order marks another step in the company’s strategy to grow its international business. It also supports BEML’s efforts to establish itself as a reliable Indian OEM for construction and mining equipment.

BEML International Order Bookings Reach USD 119 Million
With the latest order, BEML’s international order bookings stand at approximately USD 119 million as of the current date.
The company said international markets are making a growing contribution to its business. The multi-country deployment of BE220G excavators is also expected to increase its visibility across Africa.
The order further supports BEML’s Make in India focus. It will help showcase Indian engineering, manufacturing and technology capabilities in global markets.
