Atal Pension Yojana Adds Record 1.35 Crore Subscribers in FY26

In recognition of reaching their yearly enrolment goals, the program recognised 53 APY Service Providers, 10 SLBCs, the top five branches, and Lead District Managers nationwide.

M. Nagaraju, speaking at the ceremony, announced that APY has amassed more than Rs 54,000 crore in assets under management and more than 9 lakh gross enrolments. He brought attention to the record-breaking addition of 1.35 crore customers in FY26 and emphasised the importance of enhancing subscriber persistency, financial awareness, and outreach in the informal urban sector.

S. Ramann remarked that APY had its highest-ever yearly enrolment in FY26, drawing attention to the fact that enrolment was up among those aged 18 to 25, which he interpreted as a sign that young people were becoming more concerned about their financial stability in the future.

Mamta Shankar acknowledged the efforts of banks, SLBCs, and Lead District Managers in increasing the reach of the APY scheme and announced that the number of women participating reached 55.14 percent, which is a record. Total APY gross enrolments exceeded 9.10 crore as of May 18, 2026, according to PFRDA.

While IDBI Bank topped the list of big private banks, State Bank of India, Union Bank of India, and UCO Bank were the best of the public sector. In terms of annual percentage yield enrolments, both rural regional banks and cooperative banks did very well during the fiscal year.
