AAI Chairman: Puneet Kansal Given Additional Charge for 3 Months

Puneet Kansal, IAS, Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation, has been given the additional charge of AAI Chairman for three months.

Puneet Kansal (IAS) has been given the additional charge of Chairman of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for a period of three months.

Kansal is currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation. The ministry assigned him the additional charge following the transfer of Vipin Kumar, IAS (BH:1996).

According to an official order issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation on September 29, Kansal will hold the additional charge in addition to his existing duties.

He will take charge from the forenoon of September 30. The arrangement will continue for three months or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

AAI Chairman charge assigned to Puneet Kansal

The additional charge does not affect Kansal’s existing responsibilities as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

The ministry has circulated the order to Member (HR), AAI, the Company Secretary and Chief of Administration & Corporate Services (CA&CS), AAI, and all Board Members of AAI.

Kansal will oversee the responsibilities of AAI Chairman during the additional-charge period.

AAI manages airports and air navigation services

The Airports Authority of India is a statutory body under the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

AAI is responsible for managing and operating airports across the country. It also provides air navigation services.

The authority plays a key role in India’s civil aviation infrastructure and airport operations.
