Following a year-over-year increase of 9.89 billion USD in May 2025, the export of engineering goods from India surged 24.48 percent to 12.31 billion USD in May 2026, according to trade group EEPC India.
Exports of engineering services totalled USD 22.66 billion in the fiscal years 2026–27, up 16.8 percent from USD 19.40 billion in the prior year’s similar period.
The sector “successfully navigated through a very challenging period” and maintained good growth despite the West Asia conflict and associated trade disruptions, according to EEPC India Chairman Pankaj Chadha. The development demonstrates the engineering community’s ability to adjust to changing external conditions,” Chadha said, emphasising the importance of government support and trade liberalisation initiatives. Despite the announcement of a peace accord between the US and Iran, he warned that obstacles still existed.Given the substantial disturbance in the energy market and its subsequent effects, he predicted that the deal’s fruition would be delayed.
According to Chadha, the key to keeping up the present pace is to keep an eye on the market and to diversify products.
