Pankaj Kumar Gupta Takes Charge as Head of Project at NTPC Kanti

Pankaj Kumar Gupta is the new Head of Project at NTPC Kanti. Gupta has been working in the power industry for over 34 years and is well knowledgeable in engineering, project management, and energy transition programs. He is currently the chief general manager.

Gupta has been with NTPC for a long time; he started out as an executive trainee in 1991 and has subsequently been in charge of various departments. Project engineering, mechanical systems, environmental management, strategic planning, and sustainable energy projects have all benefited greatly from his extensive career contributions.

From his time at NTPC Kahalgaon and the Corporate Centre to his time at NTPC Meja and the Energy Transition & Policy Group, he has been an integral part of numerous important projects throughout his tenure with the company.

Lucknow University awarded Gupta a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering, while the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi bestowed upon him a Master of Technology in Applied Mechanics. In addition, he has taken part in a number of national and international programs that teach people how to be better leaders, how to manage projects, and how to employ new energy technology.

NTPC Kanti, with its 390 MW installed capacity, is a vital power generating facility in Bihar and helps to supply the increasing demand for electricity in the region. Stakeholder participation, environmental management, operating efficiency, and safety standards have all remained high at the station.

The power station’s Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) is only one of many community development programs that it supports. Other programs include healthcare, education, and social welfare. Its ongoing green activities, including as water conservation programs, plantation campaigns, and other green initiatives, all contribute to environmental sustainability.

In his first remarks as station director, Gupta stated his intention to promote sustainability efforts while simultaneously increasing operational excellence, safety standards, and community involvement.

He is certain that the station will keep raising the bar for performance, sustainability, and social responsibility with the help of Team Kanti.
