Maritech and Cochin Shipyard Enter Strategic Alliance with Investment Deal

On Thursday, as part of its flagship startup program, USHUS, Cochin Shipyard announced that it has entered into a deal to invest 5% of its share capital in Maritech Integrated Maritime, a deeptech platform based in Dehradun. The program’s goal is to empower India’s marine ecosystem by fostering innovative technologies through strategic investments and partnerships with startups.

The company announced that as part of the USHUS initiative, CSL has set aside Rs 50 crore to back and invest in marine-related enterprises. In order to put the initiative into action, the shipbuilder announced a partnership with IIMK LIVE and IIT Madras.Cochin Shipyard Ltd stated that the program is in line with the goals of the federal government, which include encouraging innovation, entrepreneurship, indigenisation, and the development of tech-driven enterprises.

A digital platform that supports logistics- and port-related services, the Integrated marine Exchange (IME) was developed by Maritech Integrated Maritime. It connects marine players. The marine value chain might benefit from increased operational efficiency, transparency, and collaboration thanks to IME, which CSL described as a “unified digital marketplace” for the industry. According to the statement, the platform has the potential to greatly contribute to the digitisation of India’s maritime trade and logistics.
