According to Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, India is stepping into a new age of technology-led national development. He emphasised that space, nuclear power, and artificial intelligence (AI) are crucial to bolstering security and fostering economic progress.
While addressing the “Unstoppable Bharat 2026” conference, Singh stressed the growing significance of technical readiness for strategy and the diminishing role of conventional battle in modern warfare.
The reforms in India’s space sector, he said, have fostered an environment where private enterprises and startups are proliferating. As businesses, universities, and startups work together, the country’s space economy is expected to grow at a rapid pace.
Among the many government programs in India aimed at encouraging students, particularly girls, to pursue professions in science and technology, Dr. Singh cited Vigyan Jyoti as an example of how the country has a large pool of talented scientists.
In order to provide a steady supply of electricity for India’s IT and digital infrastructure, he emphasised the importance of nuclear power for sustaining vital technologies like artificial intelligence and massive data centers.
According to the minister, the National Education Policy encourages students to think beyond the box, which will help the nation’s scientific foundation flourish in the future.
