RailTel Improves its Standing with a Big Order

By winning a sizable domestic order from Andhra Pradesh Central Power Distribution Corporation Limited (APCPDCL) worth ₹27.04 crore, RailTel Corporation of India Ltd has improved its standing in the country’s public sector digital infrastructure market.

Following receipt of the Letter of Acceptance (LoA) on January 26, 2026, the state-owned telecom and IT services company notified stock markets in accordance with Regulation 30 of SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements (LODR).

In accordance with the agreement, RailTel will supply, install, test, and configure Software Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) devices and related hardware and software licences throughout APCPDCL offices. In order to modernise and fortify the power utility’s communication network, the project’s scope also includes a five-year full warranty and technical assistance. According to the conditions specified in the LoA, the order, which is valued at ₹27,04,21,875, was granted by a domestic business and is expected to be completed by January 31, 2024. According to RailTel, the promoter and promoter group have no stake in APCPDCL, and the deal does not amount to a related-party transaction.

This most recent victory highlights RailTel’s expanding significance outside of train communication networks. Serving electricity distribution corporations, state governments, and other public sector organisations, the company has been progressively growing its presence in IT, telecom, data centre, and network solutions.

By providing safe, scalable, and high-performance digital connectivity, the project is anticipated to improve APCPDCL’s operational efficiency, reflecting the growing use of cutting-edge networking technology in India’s power distribution industry.
