India-EU Collaboration Begins with a Grand Welcome

As Chief Guests, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa were greeted with open arms in New Delhi for the 77th Republic Day festivities.

Costa was met at the airport by Union Minister Jitin Prasada, who emphasised the importance of the India-EU collaboration. Costa emphasised cooperation across several sectors and expressed honour in attending the 16th EU-India Summit.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is hosting the summit, which will discuss economic, security, and international concerns, including the continuing free trade agreement discussions that started in 2007. The goal of the meeting is to deepen the strategic alliance between the EU and India.
