Six NFR stations in Bengal get ‘Eat Right’ tag

Six stations in West Bengal under the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) have been certified as ‘Eat Right Stations’ by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) for a two-year period from December 4, 2025, to December 3, 2027.

This recognition underscores NFR’s commitment to providing safe, hygienic, and quality food services to passengers. The awarded stations include Jalpaiguri Road, Binnaguri, Dhupguri, Falakata, Dinhata, and New Coochbehar, which met FSSAI’s stringent guidelines concerning food handling, hygiene, waste management, and cleanliness.

The certification not only enhances food safety compliance and operational readiness at these stations, but also raises public health standards by providing safer food options and encouraging local vendors to adopt better practices. This initiative is expected to boost local business prospects while promoting public awareness of healthy eating.

Overall, the Eat Right Stations aim to strengthen public health and improve the image of the districts involved, as NFR continues to prioritize passenger welfare and strive for enhanced services in alignment with national public health goals.
