Bongaigoan, June 15 As a prelude to the International Day of #Yoga (IDY) 2025, NTPC #Bongaigaon organized a six-day yoga workshop at its township premises under its Ahwahan Policy embracing this year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.” The workshop was aimed at promoting holistic well-being among employees, their families, and the community at large.
Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, #NTPC Bongaigaon, inaugurating the Yoga workshop remarked that yoga is a timeless practice that aligns personal health with planetary well-being. Maitra emphasized that initiatives like this are not just about physical fitness but are also reflective of NTPC’s vision of emphasizing a balanced, mindful, and resilient workforce.
The session was led by Madhusudan Pramanik, Former NTPC employee, a certified yoga guru and member of the Indian Yoga Association. His expertise brought depth and clarity to the practice sessions, which included guided meditation, asanas, and breathing techniques tailored to support wellness in the workplace and beyond.
The inaugural session of the workshop was attended by senior officials including Debabrata Kar, GM (O&M); Arun Kumar Singh, GM (FM); and Kasturi Maitra, President of Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club. Employees, office bearers of the club, CISF personnel, and township residents participated in large numbers, showcasing NTPC Bongaigaon’s unified spirit of wellness and community engagement.
This year marks the 11th anniversary of the global celebration of IDY, initiated by the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India. In line with the national movement, the workshop served as a step towards integrating yoga into daily lives for better physical and mental health.
The event not only brought the community together in the spirit of health and harmony but also underscored NTPC’s commitment to sustainability, wellness, and holistic development. The celebrations will culminate on June 21 with the observance of the International Day of Yoga.
