Dr. Anjani Kumar has stepped down as Executive Director (Contracts) at Coal India after his appointment as WCL Director (Technical) with effect from September 28, 2026.
Dr. Anjani Kumar has relinquished charge as Executive Director (Contracts) at Coal India Limited (CIL) following his appointment as WCL Director (Technical).
Kumar’s appointment as Director (Technical) of Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of CIL, took effect from September 28, 2026.
The Ministry of Coal notified the appointment through a letter dated September 28, 2026.
Anjani Kumar Appointed WCL Director (Technical)
Dr. Anjani Kumar has taken charge as WCL Director (Technical) following his move from Coal India.
He handed over charge as Executive Director (Contracts) at CIL with effect from September 28, 2026.
The appointment marks a change in his role within the Coal India group.
CIL Informs Stock Exchanges About Leadership Change
Coal India informed the stock exchanges about Kumar’s change in position under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Regulations.
The disclosure was issued by B. P. Dubey, Executive Director (Company Secretary) and Compliance Officer.
The Ministry of Coal’s appointment letter dated September 28, 2026, preceded Kumar’s assumption of the new role at WCL.
WCL Director Role at Coal India Subsidiary
As WCL Director (Technical), Dr. Anjani Kumar joins the leadership team of Western Coalfields Limited.
WCL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Coal India Limited.
His appointment follows his tenure as Executive Director (Contracts) at the parent company.
