BDL Government Director Prakash Rajpurohit has been appointed as Part-Time Official Director on the Board of Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL). The 2010-batch IAS officer is currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Department of Defence Production.
Prakash Rajpurohit Appointed as BDL Government Director
Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) has appointed Prakash Rajpurohit, IAS, as Part-Time Official Director, also designated as Government Director, on its Board.
Rajpurohit is serving as Joint Secretary (DIP) in the Ministry of Defence, Department of Defence Production. His appointment was approved by the competent authority and communicated by the Ministry of Defence through an Office Memorandum dated September 17, 2026.
He has taken charge as BDL Government Director with effect from September 17, 2026.
Rajpurohit replaces Meera Mohanty, Joint Secretary (P&C). He will continue in the position until further orders.
BDL Government Director Brings Administrative Experience
Prakash Rajpurohit is a 2010-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Rajasthan cadre. He has held several administrative and policy positions during his career.
Before joining the Ministry of Defence, Rajpurohit served as Director in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance. In that role, he handled matters related to international investment treaties.
His experience includes assignments across economic affairs, public administration and defence production.
Prakash Rajpurohit’s Rajasthan Cadre Experience
During his tenure with the Government of Rajasthan, Rajpurohit held several field and policy assignments.
His responsibilities included district administration and commercial taxes. He also served as Excise Commissioner.
These assignments have given him experience in both field administration and policy implementation.
Educational Background
Rajpurohit holds a B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi.
His technical education, combined with experience in government administration and economic policy, forms part of his professional background.
With his appointment, BDL Government Director Prakash Rajpurohit joins the company’s Board while continuing his role as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Department of Defence Production.
