Luhri Power Transmission Project Gets Rs 839.55 Crore Investment

Luhri Power Transmission Project Moves to Terralight Solar

REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) has handed over Luhri Power Transmission Limited to Terralight Solar Energy Tinwari Private Limited. The transfer took place on August 21, 2026.

The SPV will implement an inter-state power transmission project in Himachal Pradesh. The Luhri Power Transmission Project will evacuate power from the upcoming Sunni Dam and Luhri Stage-I hydropower projects.

Terralight Solar won the project through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process. RECPDCL acted as the Bid Process Coordinator.

Transmission System to Cost Rs 839.55 Crore

The project has an estimated cost of Rs 839.55 crore. It will be developed under the Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) model.

The planned transmission system includes a 400/220 kV GIS Nange Pooling Station in Himachal Pradesh. It will also feature a 400 kV Nange Pooling Station-Koldam double-circuit transmission line.

The line will cover around 50 km. The project also includes associated transmission infrastructure.

Luhri Power Transmission Project Targets 2029 Commissioning

The project is scheduled for commissioning by October 15, 2029. The timeline is aligned with the planned commissioning of the Sunni Dam and Luhri Stage-I hydropower projects.

The transmission network will help evacuate and integrate electricity from these projects into the wider power grid.

Project to Strengthen Himachal Pradesh’s Grid Infrastructure

The Luhri Power Transmission Project is expected to strengthen power evacuation infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh.

It will support the integration of electricity from major upcoming hydropower projects. The project will also improve the state’s transmission capacity and support reliable power transfer to the wider grid.

Key Project Details

The Luhri Power Transmission Project will be developed by Luhri Power Transmission Limited, with Terralight Solar Energy Tinwari Private Limited as the successful bidder. RECPDCL conducted the project through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding process. The project will follow the Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) model and has an estimated cost of Rs 839.55 crore. It includes a 400/220 kV GIS Nange Pooling Station in Himachal Pradesh and a 400 kV Nange Pooling Station-Koldam double-circuit transmission line of around 50 km.
