BIOFACH INDIA 2026 Begins with Focus on Organic Exports

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, is organising BIOFACH INDIA 2026 from 6 to 8 August at the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida in partnership with Nuernberg Messe India. The exhibition serves as a key platform for stakeholders in the organic, natural and sustainable food sectors to explore business opportunities, exchange knowledge and strengthen trade partnerships.

More than 200 companies are participating in this year’s event, including over 60 exhibitors at the APEDA Pavilion. The pavilion features exporters, women entrepreneurs, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs), startups and organic enterprises showcasing a wide range of certified organic products from states including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand and Maharashtra.

The display highlights India’s growing strength in certified organic production with products ranging from cereals, pulses, millets, spices, tea, coffee, fresh fruits and vegetables to processed foods, herbs, medicinal plants, oilseeds, edible oils, honey, cocoa products, natural ingredients, nutraceuticals and other value-added food products.

To support export growth, APEDA has facilitated the participation of more than 35 international buyers from 13 countries, including Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Mongolia and Egypt. Buyers representing importers, distributors, wholesalers and retail chains are taking part in structured buyer seller meetings with Indian exhibitors to explore sourcing opportunities, build long term partnerships and strengthen export linkages.

The three day exhibition also includes technical conferences, product demonstrations and knowledge sessions focusing on organic certification, traceability, sustainability, consumer trends, market access and global trade opportunities. These discussions are designed to help exporters better understand international quality standards, regulatory requirements and evolving market expectations.

The inaugural session was attended by Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, Katikithala Srinivas, as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries included Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce, Nitin Kumar Yadav, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Germany Georg Enzweiler, APEDA Chairman Abhishek Dev, Spices Board Secretary M. S. Manivannan, Nuernberg Messe India Chairperson and Managing Director Sonia Prashar, and IFOAM Organics International Vice President Marco Schlüter.

Speaking at the event, Katikithala Srinivas said the organic sector offers significant opportunities to strengthen India’s agricultural exports while creating greater value for farmers and agribusinesses. He said platforms such as BIOFACH INDIA help showcase the country’s diverse organic produce, connect exporters with international buyers and promote sustainable agricultural practices.

Nitin Kumar Yadav said India’s expanding organic sector has strong growth potential in global markets. He noted that BIOFACH INDIA provides exporters and organic businesses with an important platform to showcase their products, engage with overseas buyers and better understand changing market requirements. He reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to strengthening the country’s organic export ecosystem through improved quality assurance, wider market access and deeper international engagement.

BIOFACH INDIA 2026 is being organised jointly by APEDA, Nuernberg Messe India and IFOAM Organics International with the objective of strengthening India’s organic ecosystem, expanding global market linkages and creating new business opportunities for Indian organic enterprises while enhancing the international visibility of the country’s certified organic products.
