Viksit Vibrant Village Programme 2026 participants will get the opportunity to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi via video conference on Sunday at 4:30 p.m., during which he will reiterate the government’s dedication to bolstering border communities in India and empowering young through community involvement. The program, which has been put into action through MY Bharat, embodies the Prime Minister’s vision of making border villages active participants in India’s path to Viksit Bharat and of identifying them as the first villages of the nation, according to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). Participants will have the chance to share their stories and bring attention to the developmental goals of frontier communities during the interaction.
Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand were all part of the 74 vibrant villages that were part of the Viksit Vibrant Village Programme 2026, which ran in two parts from June 4 to June 30, 2026. A statewide online quiz competition garnered over three lakh adolescent contestants, with more than 400 chosen to represent each state and union territory. In addition to actively contributing to local development, the initiative aimed to educate young Indians about the cultural diversity, socioeconomic realities, and strategic importance of India’s border regions.
Participants lived with locals and did a range of community development activities throughout their time in the border villages. Among these were Swachhta drives, mini-model panchayat simulations, tree-planting initiatives, cultural exchange programs, Yuva Sammelans, visits to institutions of strategic importance, and encounters with local artisans. In addition to promoting community engagement, national integration, and a greater understanding of India’s border legacy, the program provided direct experience with the distinct difficulties and possibilities in frontier areas.
The program is a crucial component of the government’s larger plan to empower border villages to participate in national development, as stated by the PMO. The program’s goals include fostering inclusive growth, increasing local engagement in development, and reinforcing the strategic relevance of border areas through connecting youngsters from around the nation with communities on the frontier. It is believed that Prime Minister Modi will encourage young people to work towards the goal of an independent and prosperous India through his interactions with the participants.
