In an effort to guarantee the compliance and quality of its ethanol-blended petrol, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has ramped up its nationwide fuel quality monitoring programme, inspecting 3,651 locations across its retail outlet network. This extensive monitoring exercise further demonstrates HPCL’s dedication to providing consumers all over India with safe, dependable, and high-quality fuels.
Field officers from HPCL conducted 2,173 surprise inspections of retail outlets from 7–13 July 2026, to check for compliance with quality specifications and ethanol blending norms. The company was taking preventative measures to improve fuel quality monitoring throughout its growing retail network, which included these checks.
Between July 3, 2026, and July 13, 2026, as part of HPCL’s routine quality assurance program, 1,385 field inspections were carried out, in addition to the surprise checks. Retail locations around the country are subject to random inspections to check for regulatory compliance, operating standards, and gasoline quality.
In order to bolster the monitoring system, the Quality Assurance (Anti-Adulteration) Cell of HPCL conducted 93 extra surprise inspections, and the Corporation’s mobile laboratory facilities were used to examine 49 fuel samples. Specialised testing allows for instantaneous confirmation of gasoline quality and facilitates the quick identification of anomalies.
Throughout the reporting period, the inspection program did not detect any instances of gasoline adulteration, contamination, major anomalies, or quality compliance failures. High standards are upheld across all of HPCL’s retail operations, as confirmed by the results, which also highlight the effectiveness of the company’s strong quality assurance framework.
To guarantee that the fuels sold at its retail outlets always fulfil the required standards, HPCL has a multi-tiered fuel quality assurance system that incorporates surprise audits, continuous monitoring, laboratory testing, and regular inspections. The cleaner fuel measures in India are being bolstered by the expanded surveillance plan, which also boosts customer confidence in ethanol-blended petrol nationwide.
Ensuring safe and reliable gasoline supplies across its worldwide retail network, HPCL’s rigorous quality monitoring program demonstrates its dedication to supplying high-quality fuels, enhancing ethanol blending compliance, and more.
