Tata Consultancy Services Limited (TCS) has said it does not expect the suspension of the US Permanent Labor Certification Program (PERM) to affect its workforce strategy or customer engagements. The company issued the statement in response to the recent announcement by the US Government and submitted it to the stock exchanges for information and record under applicable disclosure requirements.
TCS said it had taken note of the announcement and would comply with any directive issued by the US Department of Labor.
Focus on Local Hiring in the US
TCS said its workforce strategy in the United States primarily focuses on hiring local talent, supported by a strong campus recruitment model. The company has an established local workforce across 31 offices and delivery centres in the country.
As announced earlier, TCS plans to hire an additional 15,000 people in the US over the next five years. The company said this hiring plan would further strengthen its local talent base.
TCS Reports Limited PERM Applications
TCS stated that its PERM applications had remained in single digits over the past two years. Based on this, the company does not expect the programme’s suspension to affect its workforce strategy or customer engagements.
The statement reiterates TCS’s focus on local recruitment and its existing hiring plans in the United States, while confirming that the company will comply with applicable directions from the US Department of Labor.
