Showcasing India’s Defence Tech: BEL Welcomes Foreign Journalists

The Bengaluru Complex of Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) recently played host to a group of 28 international defence journalists from 25 different nations. The tour was sponsored by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of the Government of India as part of a public diplomacy and media outreach initiative.

At BEL’s Management Block, senior company officials welcomed the group, which was accompanied by MEA officials. Cdr K Kumar (Retd), Executive Director – NS (S&CS), spoke to the audience and gave a detailed presentation on BEL’s strengths, praising the company’s contribution to bolstering India’s defence electronics infrastructure. The engagement also included GM (MilCom) and GM (MR). The trip gave journalists a first-hand look at India’s homegrown defence capabilities and highlighted the country’s increasing reliance on modern defensive technologies.

Over lunch, the programme came to a close, inviting participants from around the world to continue the lively debate on defence innovation, technology, and India’s strategic advances in the field.
