RailTel Corporation of India Limited has secured a work order worth ₹63.81 crore, including taxes, from Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) for providing primary MPLS VPN connectivity for the implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) across NCL’s operations.
The work order was received by RailTel on 7 October 2026 and has been awarded on a domestic basis. The project has a five-year execution period and is scheduled to be completed by 30 October 2031.
RailTel to Provide MPLS VPN Connectivity
Under the contract, RailTel will provide primary MPLS VPN connectivity for NCL Headquarters, its various projects and units, as well as the company’s Data Centre and Disaster Recovery Centre.
The connectivity will be provided on a rental basis and will support the implementation of ERP across NCL’s operational network. By connecting the headquarters, project locations, units and critical data infrastructure, the project will support NCL’s requirement for reliable network connectivity across its operations.
The order further strengthens RailTel’s presence in providing digital connectivity solutions to public sector enterprises. It also adds to the company’s work in supporting the technology and communication requirements of organisations operating in the energy and mining sectors.
Order to Run for Five Years
The total order value stands at ₹63.81 crore, inclusive of applicable taxes. The contract will remain in execution for five years, with the work scheduled for completion by 30 October 2031.
The project covers primary connectivity requirements linked to NCL’s ERP implementation, including its headquarters, projects and units, Data Centre and Disaster Recovery Centre. The scope reflects the importance of network infrastructure in supporting enterprise-wide digital systems.
RailTel has informed the stock exchanges about the order under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
RailTel Expands Public Sector Connectivity Portfolio
The company has also disclosed that the order does not constitute a related party transaction and does not involve any interest of the promoter or promoter group.
The NCL contract adds to RailTel’s portfolio of connectivity projects for public sector organisations and strengthens its engagement in providing network infrastructure for large-scale enterprise requirements.
With the five-year contract, RailTel will provide connectivity support for NCL’s ERP network across its key operational locations and associated data infrastructure, further highlighting its role in supporting digital connectivity requirements across India’s public sector and mining ecosystem.
