With the Poshan Tracker’s help, India’s POSHAN Abhiyaan has gone digital, reaching 8.93 crore beneficiaries as of May 2026 and being implemented statewide across 28 states and 8 union territories. Anganwadi Services’ supplementary nutrition distribution and monitoring are being improved by the mobile-based platform, which is also making data-driven nutrition governance more transparent and efficient.
During the reporting period, 5.17 crore beneficiaries received nutritional support for 21 days or more, while over 5.5 crore beneficiaries received supplementary nutrition for at least 15 days, according to the government. Authorities may monitor the implementation of programs in real time, and the system also helps with dynamic monitoring of nutrition services.
Children, teenagers, pregnant women, and nursing moms are just a few of the life stages that the Poshan Tracker addresses, demonstrating the all-encompassing nature of the POSHAN Abhiyaan program. By utilising Aadhaar-authenticated data, the platform keeps a live monthly database of nutrition indicators for over 7.7 crore children. This database allows for evidence-based policymaking through the use of real-time dashboards and heat maps.
Nearly 94% of all enrolled beneficiaries—more than 6.3 crore children aged 0-5 years—have also been able to have their growth monitored through the application. It permits early detection of nutritional issues and prompt intervention by tracking crucial markers such as stunting, underweight, wasting (SAM/MAM), overweight, and obesity.
Anganwadi workers had to keep track of eleven separate registers by hand before the Poshan Tracker was introduced, which slowed down data collecting and decision-making. Through digital record-keeping, integrated monitoring, Aadhaar-based beneficiary verification, the Facial Recognition System (FRS), and the reduction of administrative burden, the digital platform has greatly enhanced service delivery.
