PM Modi to dedicate 31 projects worth ₹8,500 crore to Manipur tomorrow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Manipur on Saturday to inaugurate 17 projects and lay the foundation stones for 14 new development projects, collectively valued at Rs 8,500 crore.

The Prime Minister will arrive from Aizawl and first address internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Churachandpur, where he will lay foundation stones for projects worth Rs 7,300 crore. He will later proceed to Imphal’s Kangla Fort to inaugurate infrastructure projects totaling Rs 1,200 crore and interact with IDPs.

The inaugurated projects include facilities in New Delhi and Kolkata, the Civil Secretariat, New Police Headquarters, a Special Economic Zone, Ima Markets at four locations, Imphal River development, a bridge on the Imphal-Jiribam National Highway, and an Eklavya Model Residential School. The foundation stones will be laid for urban road and drainage projects, the Manipur Infotech Development Project, highway upgradations, Working Women Hostels, school strengthening, and healthcare facility enhancements in remote and hill districts.

The Chief Secretary highlighted the visit as a testament to the Prime Minister’s commitment to Manipur’s development and a catalyst for restoring peace and accelerating growth in the state, emphasizing Manipur’s strategic importance as a gateway to Southeast Asia and a guardian of India’s diversity.
