PM Modi Engages Global Investors Before Bharat Innovates Summit in France to Boost Startup Partnerships

In Nice, France, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with a small group of international investors, VCs, and innovation players on Sunday, just before the much-anticipated Bharat Innovates Summit 2026 got underway. The conversation highlighted India’s rising profile as a worldwide hub for innovation and investment.
Prime Minister Modi and President Emmanuel Macron of France will begin the innovation-focused meeting together. It is anticipated that top startups, entrepreneurs, investors, and IT specialists from around the globe will attend. The purpose of the event is to bring together startup ecosystems from India, France, and around the world in an effort to foster new avenues for investment, collaboration, and innovation.

Prime Minister Modi met with investors from across the globe, including France and India, and used the opportunity to brag about his country’s booming tech industry, booming startup scene, and reform-driven economic success story. Topics covered included new technology, starting a business, venture funding, and potential partnerships for the future.

The conference takes place as France and India are stepping up their collaboration under their Special Global Strategic Partnership, which is centred around cutting-edge research, digital transformation, innovation, and technology. There will likely be a lot of cross-border investment and stronger links between the two nations’ startup ecosystems at the Bharat Innovates Summit.

Prime Minister Modi and President Macron will also have bilateral discussions in Nice to review all aspects of India-France relations, in addition to the summit. Among the anticipated topics of discussion are technological advancements, trade, defence cooperation, renewable energy, AI, and more general geopolitical concerns.

Nice, Evian, and Paris are on the itinerary for Prime Minister Modi’s France tour, which begins on June 13 and continues on June 18. The high-level diplomatic relations and commercial cooperation between the two nations are gaining momentum, and the visit is a reflection of that.

The Indian diaspora in Nice had before welcomed Prime Minister Modi with open arms. On the social media site X, the prime minister recounted his trip, praising the strong bond that Indians living abroad have with their nation and describing the response as unforgettable.

As part of his trip to France, the prime minister will have a number of bilateral and multilateral meetings to further collaboration across critical sectors and to fortify India’s ties with important global stakeholders.
