PM Modi Assesses INR 30,000 Crore Infra Projects, Emphasises Timely Delivery

The 52nd meeting of PRAGATI, an ICT-enabled multi-modal platform that promotes proactive governance and ensures the timely delivery of projects through tight coordination between the Centre and State Governments, was hosted on Wednesday by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In a meeting that took place at Seva Teerth, the Prime Minister went over four massive infrastructure projects that will cost around Rs 30,000 crore. Across four states, these initiatives will improve transport via road, electricity, an industrial corridor, and metro rail.

Delays in infrastructure projects lead to cost overruns and deprive citizens and companies of the intended advantages, PM Modi said, emphasising the necessity of effective project execution. He ordered the relevant state governments and ministries to go into mission mode to settle outstanding concerns and to keep a careful eye on all projects.

Regular updates of project-related information, including utilities, infrastructure layers, approvals, and field-level data, should be made, according to the Prime Minister’s demand for the successful utilisation of the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan. He claims that better decision-making, enhanced inter-agency cooperation, and early bottleneck identification could result from the platform’s precise and real-time data.

Besides focusing on infrastructure development, the prime minister also evaluated the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’s progress and stressed the need of using AI and other emerging technologies to bolster the countrywide campaign. In order to raise awareness, monitor patients, and mobilise the community, he proposed involving NCC cadets and MY Bharat volunteers.

Concerned about the growing abuse of digital platforms to deceive individuals, Prime Minister Modi also reviewed complaints concerning cybercrime and cases of digital arrest fraud. Everyone involved must act in a coordinated, sensitive, and time-bound manner, he emphasised; citizens should not be required to go to different departments for help.

In addition, the prime minister emphasised the need for digital platforms, banks, and law enforcement to work together more closely, as well as for quicker reaction systems and more transparent accountability. In order to help people avoid falling victim to cybercrime and other internet frauds, he also stressed the significance of increasing public awareness initiatives.

The government’s ongoing commitment to speeding up infrastructure development, expanding public health efforts, strengthening technology-based governance, and protecting citizens from new digital risks is reflected in the report.
