NTPC Bongaigaon Lights Up Assam’s Culture with Vibrant Anand Mela

From February 1-2, 2026, NTPC Bongaigaon and the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club successfully organised a two-day Anand Mela with the theme “Junaki Mon”, honouring Assam’s musical legacy. Inaugurated by Arindam Sinha and attended by many dignitaries, the event promoted local culture and entrepreneurship. Traditional foods, handicrafts, and eco-friendly goods were on display at more than thirty kiosks, and tourists were drawn in by life-size displays of Assamese music legend Zubeen Garg.

The mela featured cultural performances from various troupes and included activities for families, demonstrating NTPC’s commitment to community engagement.

Additionally, NTPC gave educational materials and winter apparel to empower local girls under the Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM), indicating their emphasis on social responsibility and inclusive growth.
