A colourful display of solidarity, wellness, and community participation was on display as NLC India Limited (NLCIL) celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2026 with lavish events at Bharathi Stadium, Neyveli. Roughly 8,000 individuals were in attendance. Participation in the event was a reflection of the organization’s ongoing efforts to foster a culture of health and wellness among its members and the surrounding community.
The event, which was spearheaded by Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy and Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey, was organised in accordance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and highlighted the increasing popularity of Yoga as a potent tool for emotional, mental, and physical wellness.
The International Day of Yoga this year focused on the benefits of Yoga for healthy ageing, which may be experienced by people of all ages in terms of increased physical vitality, mental clarity, and emotional resilience. Employees, senior officials, welfare organisations, trade union leaders, contract workers, Yoga practitioners, stakeholders, members of the public, and about 7,500 youngsters from schools across Neyveli enthusiastically participated in the celebration.
The Chief Guest and presenter of the show was Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director of NLC India Limited. He described Yoga as a holistic discipline that supports the body, mind, and spirit, and he emphasised the significance of incorporating yoga into daily life in his lecture. He stressed that Yoga is more than just a workout; it’s a means to better health, more peace within oneself, and a better society.
The CISF Commandant, senior executives of NLC India Limited, Samir Swarup, Director (HR), R. P. S. Sisodia, Director (Projects & Planning), and Director (Power)—Additional Charge—were among the dignitaries who participated in the Yoga session at the event.
Showcased in the presentation was the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP), which is mandated by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. It was a big draw for viewers. Yoga gurus led their students in a sequence of postures, breathing exercises, and wellness routines meant to boost their health, focus, and flexibility. The growing number of people who are realising the value of Yoga in achieving and sustaining a healthy lifestyle was evident in the enthusiastic engagement.
In his opening remarks, B. Vaidyanathan, Chief General Manager (Township Administration), welcomed everyone and spoke about how Yoga improves one’s health, happiness, and overall well-being. In order to improve their health and happiness in the long run, he suggested that they make Yoga a regular part of their lives.
The Deputy General Manager (Education, Sports & Culture) offered a vote of thanks at the end of the program, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, volunteers, educational institutions, Yoga organisations, and participants for their roles in making the event a success.
The massive International Day of Yoga 2026 celebration in Neyveli was a strong example of NLC India’s dedication to promoting a culture of health, wellness, and community involvement. The corporation wanted to send a message that Yoga is an evergreen method to a better, more sustainable future, so it convened thousands of people from all walks of life to do just that.
