NEYVELI LIGNITE CITY CLUB HOSTS THE PRESTIGIOUS ALL INDIA INVITATIONAL CMD CUP GOLF TOURNAMENT 2025

New Delhi, July 22: The “All India invitational CMD Cup Golf Tournament 2025” was conducted in a grand manner by NLC India Limited (NLCIL) in association with the Lignite City Club (LCC) on 19th and 20th July 2025 at the LCC Golf Course, Neyveli. The two-day All India Invitational Golf Tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from golfers representing various Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and golf courses across the country.

Teams from PSUs such as MCL, BEML, ONGC and Golf Clubs from Geojit and Cosmopolitan Club participated in the event. The tournament was inaugurated at 6:00 AM on 19th July, 2025 by Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, CMD, NLCIL, with a ceremonial tee-off. Over two days, players competed in a spirited yet friendly atmosphere.

Earlier, speaking at the Players’ Meet held at Mahip Singh Hall, Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director, NLC India Limited addressed the gathering that includedDr. Suresh Chandra Suman, Director (Mines) and P&P( Addl. Charge), Samir Swarup, Director (HR), Ashok Keote, President of LCC and senior officials of NLCIL. He emphasized the importance of sports and physical activity in leading a healthy life and called for engagement of everyone in at least one sport. He also praised the uniqueness of golf and the high standards of the 9-hole course maintained at Neyveli.

The valedictory and prize distribution ceremony took place on 20th July, 2025 at Mahip Singh Hall. The NLCIL team lifted the prestigious CMD Rolling Trophy. Winners were presented trophies by Dr. Suresh Chandra Suman, Director (Mines) and Samir Swarup, Director (HR), in the presence of LCC President Ashok Keote, Senior NLC executives and their family members.

Participants from across India praised NLCIL’s outstanding hospitality, the quality of the Golf Course, and the smooth execution of the tournament.

A Putting competition for non-golfers, including women and children, was also conducted, reinforcing the inclusive nature of the event. NLCIL continues to promote employee wellness, inter-PSU engagement, and the spirit of sportsmanship through such impactful sporting events.
