New Collaboration Between IOCL and Akasa Air to Achieve the Green Aviation Goal

In order to investigate the possibility of supplying Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), Akasa Air and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) inked an LOI at Wings India 2026.

This collaboration intends to promote Akasa Air’s sustainability initiatives, as SAF is vital for decreasing greenhouse gas emissions in air travel and transitioning the aviation sector towards net-zero emissions.

IOCL’s Country Head (Aviation Business), Shailesh Dhar, stressed the company’s dedication to growing low-carbon fuels and helping clients make the energy transition.

The alliance will focus on evaluating prospective SAF supply volumes, delivery points, and timings, as well as utilising approved sustainable feedstocks and production methods.
