Navi Mumbai International Airport to Start Commercial Services from December 25

Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) will commence commercial operations on December 25, with 23 scheduled daily departures for 12 hours from 08:00 to 20:00.

The inaugural flight will be IndiGo 6E460 from Bengaluru at 8:00 AM, followed by the first outbound flight to Hyderabad at 8:40 AM. Initially, flights will operate with IndiGo, Air India Express, and Akasa Air connecting to 16 domestic destinations.

The airport plans to shift to 24-hour operations by February 2026, increasing departures to 34 daily as demand grows. NMIA is conducting operational readiness trials and has integrated the Central Industrial Security Force for security functions.

The airport is developed as a public-private partnership, primarily led by Adani Airports Holdings Limited, with a focus on meeting the aviation needs of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
