Mizoram’s government expressed gratitude to NITI Aayog for designating the state as the ‘Ginger Capital of India’.
Chief Minister Lalduhoma led a meeting with the Mizoram Agricultural Marketing Board (MAMB) to review agricultural initiatives, including a significant consultation held on November 24 in New Delhi that featured over 60 investors in ginger.
The state reported purchasing over 3.38 crore kg of ginger this year, with plans for a ‘Ginger Buyer–Seller Meet’ on December 5-6 aimed at fostering trade. Upcoming initiatives include the inauguration of a ginger processing unit and the government backing for local broomstick production during the next harvest season commencing February 2, 2026.
