Maharashtra’s state-run power company, MahaGenco, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) to co-develop a nuclear power generation project.
The agreement aims to enhance non-fossil energy capacity, support the state’s transition to nuclear power, and promote local manufacturing through the ‘Make in Maharashtra Initiative.’
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis highlighted that this initiative will be the first of its kind for a state in India, focusing on clean energy crucial for data centers, which are significantly growing in Maharashtra.
