India continues to purchase energy resources based on its economic interests, affirmed Dmitry Peskov, Press Secretary to President Vladimir Putin.
Peskov stated that this approach would persist following Putin’s recent visit to India, where discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the longstanding economic partnership.
Notably, Putin reinforced Russia’s role as a reliable energy supplier for India’s growing economy, ensuring uninterrupted fuel supplies. The leaders also noted a shift towards using national currencies in trade, which now accounts for 96% of commercial transactions between the two nations.
Their talks led to the signing of various agreements, including those on trade, maritime cooperation, and health, aimed at strengthening their Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership.
Overall, the discussions were described as successful and aimed at enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors, including security, economics, and cultural exchanges.
