Heavy Rains Lash Delhi; IMD Issues Yellow and Orange Alerts, Flight Operations Disrupted

Heavy rain and gusty winds impacted Delhi on October 7, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue yellow and orange alerts.

While the rain offered relief from heat, it disrupted flight operations and caused traffic jams and waterlogging in low-lying areas. Intermittent showers persisted throughout the day, and the IMD predicted more heavy rainfall in Northwest India due to a western disturbance.

The Delhi Airport advised passengers to check flight statuses and consider using the Metro to avoid delays, as adverse weather conditions may affect flights. Conditions are favorable for the withdrawal of the southwest monsoon in several regions over the next few days.
