Minister Hardeep Singh Puri held discussions in Tokyo with Japanese industry leaders about enhancing India-Japan energy cooperation.
He emphasized India’s expanding energy infrastructure and reforms under PM Modi, which facilitate over $500 billion in investment across various sectors including LNG and hydrogen.
Puri pointed out the synergistic relationship between India’s young workforce and Japan’s technological expertise, highlighting that India’s major oil and gas companies generated revenues of $315 billion, making it a key global energy player.
He mentioned ongoing initiatives like the Open Acreage Licensing Programme (OALP), aimed at attracting further investment and participation from domestic and international energy firms.
