On Sunday, Harish Duhan, chairman and managing director of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), inspected all three of the company’s megaprojects—Gevra, Dipka, and Kusmunda—with an eye toward improving coal production and dispatch systems for the summer and getting ready for the monsoon. While there, the CMD stressed how critical it is to guarantee a steady supply of coal in order to keep up with the growing demand for energy. Production and dispatch activities were made more efficient after a thorough assessment of arrangements at the field level.
Coal transportation road dispatch routes were reviewed at a meeting with the CMD, Area General Managers, and teams from Sales, Dispatch, and Civil departments in the Dipka area. All links in the coal evacuation chain were examined in the Gevra area by the CMD. This included the availability of mine stock, exit barriers, and road dispatch routes.
Furthermore, 42 CuM and 16 CuM shovels were inspected throughout the department and KJSL patches, with a focus on enhancing the production of overburden (OB) in the department. The Neelkanth patch and continuing production activities were examined by the CMD at the Kusmunda project. As part of his inspection, he reviewed the state of the proposed overbridge and subway projects and gave orders to speed up construction at the Gevra Road-Kusmunda railway crossing.
