Coal India Limited (CIL) has announced to the stock markets that it has been awarded a contract to develop a BESS project by GRIDCO Limited (Odisha).
As per the SEBI (Listing Obligations and information Requirements) Regulations, 2015, this information has been made in accordance with Regulation 30. A battery energy storage system with a capacity of 320 MWh (80 MW × 4 hours) will be set up across two clusters in Odisha as part of the project.
Energy storage infrastructure to enhance grid stability and renewable energy integration is being set up as part of a domestic contract granted by GRIDCO Limited, Odisha. The deal was given on an arm’s length basis, and Coal India stated that there were no linked party transactions.
