In order to gather information for the Temporary Mine Closure Plan (TMCP), CMPDI, an organization that specialises in mine planning and design, visited the Kathautia Coal Mine on April 16, 2026. The mine is owned and operated by Hindalco. Specifically, the initiative is in line with the MCP Guidelines 2025.
While on site, representatives from CMPDI used drones to survey the area and take a close look at the current environmental conditions. Additionally, the team spoke with site officials to gain insight into operational considerations and mine closure necessities, and they gathered field data to back up the closure plan development.
Responsible and compliant mine closure planning is the goal of the TMCP, which places an emphasis on environmental protections and long-term land rehabilitation following mining activities.
