As the US semiconductor company ramps up its R&D efforts for data infrastructure, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence (AI), Marvell Technology will spend USD 250 million in India over the next three years to increase its technological, human resource, and infrastructure footprint. The news was announced on Wednesday in conjunction with the company’s 20th anniversary in India.
As part of the investment, Marvell intends to reveal a new wing at its Bengaluru office, expand operations in Hyderabad, and treble the workforce in India over the next three years. The growth, according to the business, will help with the creation of cutting-edge semiconductor solutions for use in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and data infrastructure, as well as strengthen the company’s worldwide innovation network.
According to Marvell, India has become a key location for strategic engineering. The country provides infrastructure technologies that top cloud providers and hyperscalers rely on. Along with bolstering the nation’s semiconductor ecosystem and engineering skill base, the business announced plans to maintain and even increase its investments in research and development.
In 2006, the business set up shop in Bengaluru. Since then, it claims that India has grown into its second-largest research and development organization worldwide. Software and firmware development, subsystem design, end-to-end silicon development, high-speed analogue IP, and advanced process technologies (including 2-nanometer and beyond) are all areas of focus for engineering teams located in Bengaluru, Pune, and Hyderabad. Additionally, the company’s India teams are using AI tools to boost engineering productivity and innovation, and they also contribute patents.
