C.P. Radhakrishnan sworn in as India’s 15th Vice President

CP Radhakrishnan was sworn in as the 15th Vice President of India by President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh, and former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar.

Radhakrishnan secured 452 first-preference votes in the Vice Presidential election against opposition candidate B. Sudershan Reddy. Previously the Governor of Maharashtra, Radhakrishnan is noted for his non-confrontational style and RSS roots. He has pledged to uphold constitutional values and work for national development, aiming to bring stability, dignity, and bridge political divides in his role as ex officio Chairman of the Rajya Sabha.
