Achievement By Students of Neyveli Jawahar Higher Secondary School in Tirukkural Recitation

New Delhi, Aug 11: In a remarkable display of linguistic dedication and cultural pride, five students from Jawahar Higher Secondary School (CBSE), Neyveli, operating under the aegis of NLC India Limited (NLCIL), have successfully memorised and flawlessly recited all 1,330 couplets of the Thirukkural—one of Tamil literature’s most revered classical texts.

The recital was conducted in the presence of officials from the Tamil Development Department, Cuddalore District, who formally verified and acknowledged the accomplishment.

In recognition of this extraordinary feat, the Government of Tamil Nadu awarded each student a cash prize of ₹15,000 along with a certificate of appreciation, commending their dedication to the preservation and promotion of Tamil literary heritage.

Further adding to the recognition, Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director of NLC India Limited, personally felicitated the students with commemorative mementoes on behalf of the organisation. He lauded their remarkable achievement and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence in both academics and cultural endeavours.

This significant milestone not only highlights the students’ literary brilliance and memorisation skills but also reflects NLCIL’s ongoing commitment to holistic education and the nurturing of cultural values among India’s youth.

Five students from the Jawahar Higher Secondary School (CBSE), which operates under NLC India Limited in Neyveli, have set a remarkable record by memorizing and flawlessly reciting all 1,330 couplets of the Thirukkural, one of the greatest classical works of Tamil literature.

The recitation event was held on August 4, 2025, under the supervision of officials from the Tamil Development Department of Cuddalore district. In recognition of this achievement, each student was awarded a cash prize of ₹15,000 and a certificate of appreciation by the Tamil Nadu government.

Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, the Chairman and Managing Director of NLC India Limited, honored the students’ commitment to preserving and promoting the heritage of their mother tongue’s literature. On behalf of the company, he presented them with mementos and commended their extraordinary literary knowledge and memory. He also urged the students to continue excelling in both academics and the arts.
