By opening the Kashmir Valley to Amazon’s specialised goods services run by Northern Railway, Indian Railways has improved logistical connections.
Adarsh Nagar in the National Capital Region and Budgam in Kashmir will now have a dependable two-way supply chain thanks to the initiative’s daily VP-based freight delivery. To improve market integration, the corridor allows for the forward movement of goods from the NCR to the Valley and the return loading of regional products to the capital.
With this service, time-sensitive goods across difficult terrain can be moved in less than 30 hours, which is a new record. As a result, the region’s logistical efficiency and dependability have greatly improved.
It is believed that the development will increase the adoption of e-commerce, enhance access to commodities, and open new chances for local manufacturers to reach wider markets by connecting the Valley with key consumption centers.
The move further highlights Indian Railways’ commitment to enhancing freight operations and constructing interconnected supply networks that promote economic growth, especially in economically disadvantaged areas.
