RailTel Wins ₹217 Crore Bihar Deals, Boosts Digital Education and Cybersecurity Drive

According to regulatory filings, RailTel Corporation of India Ltd announced on Thursday that it has received two orders worth more than ₹217 crore from government entities in Bihar.

In accordance with the 2015 Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, the business informed the public of the changes in compliance with Regulation 30. In an effort to further an educational endeavour, the Bihar Education Project Council has issued a work order to RailTel.

Participation in this project as an implementation partner will improve the quality of education in a subset of Bihar’s public schools that are part of the PM SHRI initiative. Improving educational results through the implementation of digital infrastructure and services is within the purview of this project. With taxes included, the order value is around ₹168.75 crore. March 18, 2026 was the date of receipt of the work order; the scheduled execution date of the project is September 30, 2026.  North Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd. has sent RailTel a Letter of Acceptance (LoA), according to an independent filing.

A Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC) would be set up for NBPDCL and South Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd. as part of the contract, which is worth around ₹48.38 crore (including taxes). It also covers the five-year length of time needed to maintain operational and information technology systems.

The deadline for the project is January 17, 2027, and the Letter of Authorisation was obtained on March 18, 2026.
