On Sunday, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) revealed that, beginning in the fiscal year 2026–27, the annual FASTag pass will cost somewhat more.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the yearly pass charge has been changed from ₹3,000 to ₹3,075 and will be effective from April 1, 2026.
The National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008 were the basis for the change, as reported by NHAI.
Since its launch on August 15, 2025, Independence Day, more over 56 lakh private vehicle owners have taken advantage of the FASTag yearly pass.
This pass can be used at around 1,150 toll plazas spread out over India’s national roads and motorways, and it is available to qualified non-commercial cars with a valid FASTag.
Commuters can save time and avoid having to recharge their toll accounts by paying a single amount that covers toll usage for one year or 200 toll plaza crossings, whichever comes first.
Within two hours of making the payment through the Rajmarg Yatra App or the official website of the National Highways Authority of India, the yearly pass is activated on the existing FASTag associated with the vehicle.
