The environmental cooperation Memorandum of Understanding between India and Finland was renewed on Thursday, strengthening the bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the areas of pollution control, climate action, and sustainable resource management.
The Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav and his Finnish counterpart, Sari Multala, formally renewed the 2020 pact in the nation’s capital, expanding cooperation in a wide range of areas, including waste management, carbon mitigation and adaptation, forest monitoring, conservation of marine resources, and control of air and water pollution.
Particularly in the areas of integrated water resource management and low-carbon solutions, the reformed framework seeks to enhance information sharing, technological collaborations, and collaborative endeavours.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared efforts to raise India-Finland ties into a strategic partnership based on digitalisation, sustainability, and advanced technology during the state visit of Alexander Stubb. This development comes amid broader strategic collaborations.
