Indian enterprises investing in renewable energy will reap the rewards of a reorganisation of global supply chains, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks on Tuesday. This will open up new export potential for India.
In his address to a webinar held in the wake of the Union Budget, Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed the budget’s commitment to long-term economic growth and sustainability.
Carbon capture, utilisation, and storage missions were among the proposals he brought up, and he urged businesses and financiers to work together with the government to make these a reality.
The Green Energy Corridor project and the PM Surya Ghar rooftop solar plan each received 600 crore and 22,000 crore, respectively, of the record-breaking 32,914 crore allocated to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy in the budget. ₹600 crore would be set aside for the National Green Hydrogen Mission in FY27.
Key growth pillars highlighted by Modi in the Viksit Bharat roadmap include manufacturing, logistics, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and developing city economic regions. Focused sessions are planned to increase industrial capacity, competitiveness, and job creation.
