Three publications about Viksit Bharat and Net Zero have been made public by NITI Aayog. These reports are part of an eleven-study series that aims to achieve India’s development goals by 2047 while achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2070.
Supported by 10 interministerial working groups, the studies include an integrated examination across important sectors such as industry, agriculture, transportation, and power. An overview of development scenarios is given in the first study, with a focus on electrification and low-carbon technology.
The macroeconomic ramifications, such as the effect on GDP, employment, and state finances, are covered in the second study. The third paper discusses funding requirements, emphasising the $6.5 trillion financial shortfall and the $22.7 trillion investment required by 2070.
Key officials stress the significance of a thorough plan to strike a balance between energy demands and climate objectives.
