The Vande Sleeper train is being developed by New Delhi using a holistic approach that incorporates technology, planning, and production.
The effort, which is being spearheaded by BEML and the Integral Coach Factory, consists of developing prototypes, testing them thoroughly, and then producing 260 trainsets in stages.
Passenger safety and comfort will be prioritised when these trainsets are brought into service, with a focus on meeting demand and readiness standards while incorporating modern amenities and enhanced safety features.
