Sun-Powered Surge: NTPC Green Adds 125 MW, Crosses 8,800 MW Mark

An additional 125 MW solar capacity has been declared commercially operational at NTPC Green Energy Limited’s (NGEL) 500 MW Bhadla Solar PV Project in Rajasthan, which adds to India’s renewable energy portfolio.

Under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015, the business informed the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE Limited in a regulatory filing that the second portion capacity of 125 MW has been declared commercially active with effect from 00:00 hours on January 31, 2026.

Pursuant to the certification obtained on February 3, 2026, from the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RREC), the commercial operation declaration has been issued. The NTPC Green Energy Limited Group’s total commercial capacity has increased to 8,688.25 MW with the commissioning of this new capacity. With this addition, the group’s total installed capacity has reached 8,813.25 MW, which is a major step forward in NTPC’s path towards clean energy.

Part of the NTPC Green Energy Limited family of companies is the Bhadla Solar PV Project, which is under development in Rajasthan’s Phalodi area. Contributing significantly to India’s progress towards its renewable energy targets, the project is a component of the country’s largest solar park.
